Ingredient:
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 2 cups / 250 g. / 8.8 oz. All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 cups / 500 ml. milk
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted or canola oil
- 2 bananas
- 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
- Chocolate chips
Follow these steps:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
- In a small, deep bowl beat the egg whites until peaks form. In another bowl, beat or whisk together the egg yolks, buttermilk and butter.
- Add the buttermilk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Fold in the egg whites
- Separate the batter (⅓ and ⅔) and mix in 2 tablespoons of cocoa in the largest amount.
- In a mini-frypan bake the face of the monkey with the chocolate batter.
- Bake half circles for the nose with the regular batter.
- After you place your monkey on the plate. Make the ears with 2 slices of banana. Form the eyes, nose, and mouth with chocolate chips.
